The traditional UK pubs which you’ll find all over the city offers one of the best places to enjoy a traditional British night out. The good news is that with a little bit of research online you’re likely to be able to find a list of pubs offering Happy Hour, a period early in the evening, i.e. from 5pm to 7pm, during which drinks are offered two for one or cocktails delivered for cheaper than usual prices.
Discount food
It’s never a good idea to drink too much on an empty stomach, of course, so it’s probably wise to fill up on food before heading off for your night out. Nearly every pub in London offers bar food of varying quality, but restaurant chains such as Pizza Express, Strada and GBK generally have a range of offers available. Clubbing

It sounds simple, but we all know that London, like many major cities, is best explored on foot. Save your sightseeing for the evening, however, and you’ll be able to enjoy stunning landmarks such as the London Eye, Tower Bridge and the Embankment lit up like Christmas trees.
Theatre and Musicals
The West End of London offers some of the greatest theatrical experiences in the world, but tickets are often extremely expensive. If you look online, however, you can often see major theatres offering much reduced tickets to pick up at the last minute, while it’s possible to book a seat for some first rate Shakespeare at the Globe Theatre for as little as £5.
Comedy
Seeing the big stars of comedy in action may cost a pretty penny, but you can catch the best up and coming comedians performing at open mic nights for as little as a few pounds. The Top Secret Comedy Club, for example, often charges just £1 for entry. You don’t know exactly what you’re going to see, of course, but with stand-up comedy, that’s surely part of the fun?
Transport
Getting back to your London hostel safely is the perfect way to cap off a great night out, but taxi fares can often hit the wallet hard. Luckily, London is blessed with a first rate night bus service, which runs through the night and is extremely reasonably priced. Make sure you know your routes and numbers in advance, and you can relax in the knowledge that you’ll be able to get back to your nice warm bed.
