Start the Year 2020 with Extreme Adventurous Activities in London

Mention the fact that you’re visiting London and most people will assume that you’re going to be spending your time visiting art galleries, museums, exploring shops, markets and ticking off a list of world famous tourist attractions. If you come to stay at London Backpackers hostel you can do all of this, along with adventurous treats London has to offer.

If you’re an adrenaline junkie, thrill seeker or extreme sports addict, these are just a few of the ways you can get your pulse racing while you’re staying in London:

Flip Out

Flip Out is the ultimate destination for anyone who’s ever amused themselves by bouncing up and down on their bed for a couple of hours. Based in Earlsfield London, it consists on no less than 42,000 square feet of interconnected trampolines. If you want something more challenging than simply bouncing to your heart’s content, then rest assured they also have a parkour area and basketball hoops to launch yourself toward. Perhaps best of all is the chance to hurl yourself as high as you can bounce and then down into the thrilling but safe depths of the foam pit.

Bungee Jump

Travel to the O2 Arena on the Greenwich Peninsula to experience the white knuckle thrill of bungee jumping at any time of the year. The 160ft crane is managed by the experts at the UK Bungee Club, so you know you’re in the safest possible hands. Experience the thrill of plunging from such a fantastic height, safe in the knowledge that the elastic will be snapping you back up into the air.

Vertical Chill

If you’re into climbing but want more of a challenge offered by the highest and trickiest climbing wall, then head straight to the Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports centre in Covent Garden. This is where you’ll find the aptly named Vertical Chill, an 8 metre high climbing wall which is constructed entirely from ice. The temperatures in the centre range from -5°C to -12°C, and every climber is equipped with a harness, crampons, a helmet and thermal clothing, though it’s probably a good idea to make sure you’re wearing a few warm layers before you get there.

Almost Wild Campsite

Travel to the Lee Valley in Essex to get back to nature at the Almost Wild bush craft skills workshop. In a beautiful natural setting, you’ll learn how to master skills like building a shelter, foraging for food, using an axe and purifying water. You’ll even learn how to get a fire going without having to use matches or a lighter, which is going to be seriously impressive the next time you put a barbecue on.

Axe Throwing

If you’ve ever enjoyed a game of darts but wondered how it could possibly be made a bit more exciting then wonder no more. Whistle Punks is a venue in Vauxhall which is dedicated to the exciting sport of competitive axe throwing. You’ll be given the axes and some lessons in how to throw them so that they stick in the target, and before you know it you’ll be battling out with your friends to see who can get the highest score.

Sword Fighting

If axe throwing isn’t quite enough to let you fully indulge your inner Game of Thrones character then why not try your hand at sword fighting. The London Longsword Academy is based in different locations across the London. Book for weekly lessons and you can learn how to use swords ranging from the lightweight rapier to the substantial longsword.
