Hostel Rooms for Digital Nomads

Prefer your own sleeping space? London Backpackers has private single, twin and double rooms with shared bathroom facilities.

Meet Fellow Travellers After Work

Travelling solo leaves plenty of freedom, but it is good to have company when the day is done. A hostel stay gives you opportunities to get to know other travellers along the way.

Swap recommendations, chat about your next stop or make plans with someone you have just met. Sometimes an evening starts with a simple hello.

Get Around from Hendon Central London

Hendon Central Underground station is a short walk from the hostel, with Northern line connections into central London.

Plan your route around the places you want to visit and check the return journey before heading out. Our location and directions page can help you plan your arrival.

Longer Hostel Stays for Digital Nomads

Looking for long-term hostel accommodation while travelling? Contact us with your arrival and departure dates, guest numbers and preferred room type. Our team can advise on availability and the total price for your requested stay.

When setting your budget, leave room for food, transport and the things you want to do while you are here. Comparing the full cost of your visit makes it easier to decide how long to spend in the city.

Find International Company During your London Stay

Being away from home can make a familiar accent welcome, while meeting someone from another country can open up a different conversation.

London Backpackers hosts digital nomads from the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Germany, Italy and France. American and Australian travellers, New Zealanders, and Spanish, German, Italian and French guests all bring something different to hostel life.

Plan Where You will Work in London

Your daytime workspace should suit the job you need to do. If your schedule includes video meetings or long

periods of concentration, consider whether a separate coworking space would suit your routine.

Before booking a workspace, check:

Opening hours against your meeting times and time zone
Whether calls are allowed and private meeting space can be booked
Internet requirements for uploads or other demanding tasks
Desk access, power sockets and any extra charges

If you intend to work from the hostel, discuss your requirements with our team before booking accommodation. Read our digital nomad accommodation tips for more planning advice.

FAQ's

How should digital nomads plan work around check-in and check-out?
Check-in starts at 2pm, and check-out is by 10am. Leave time between your journey and your first meeting, particularly after an international flight. Contact reception beforehand if you expect to arrive late.
Can I change my accommodation booking if my remote working plans change?
Changes depend on the conditions of your reservation. Contact London Backpackers about a direct booking, or follow the instructions in your confirmation email if you booked through another website.
What should remote workers check when requesting a receipt for expenses?
Before booking, ask whether the receipt can include the details your employer or accountant requires, such as a company name and billing address. The arrangements may depend on where you book and how you pay.
Can I have replacement work equipment delivered during my stay?
Guests can receive deliveries at the hostel. Speak to reception before ordering to check the addressing and collection arrangements. Discuss valuable equipment or parcels due outside your stay dates with the team first.
What should I bring to help keep my laptop and belongings secure?
Bring your own padlock and keep valuables secured when you are away. Avoid leaving your laptop or phone unattended while charging, and keep your passport and essential travel documents somewhere secure.
Do international digital nomads need a UK plug adapter?
The UK uses Type G plugs with three rectangular pins. Visitors from the USA, Australia, New Zealand and much of Europe will usually need an adapter. Check your charger’s input requirements too, as an adapter does not convert voltage.
Should I arrange backup mobile data for remote work in London?
Consider a backup connection if your job depends on being online. Check your roaming allowance or compare a UK SIM or eSIM, including device compatibility, data limits and whether tethering is permitted.
How can I protect client information when working while travelling?
Keep confidential conversations away from places where others can overhear. Lock your screen when stepping away and follow your employer’s rules for accessing company systems. Avoid leaving sensitive documents visible to other guests.
How do I schedule calls with overseas clients while staying in London?
Set your calendar to display London time alongside your client’s time zone. Recheck meeting times around daylight-saving changes, as countries do not all change their clocks on the same dates.
How can first-time digital nomads maintain a daily routine?
Start with a manageable schedule and allow time to settle in. Keep regular meal and sleep times where possible, take breaks between commitments and leave space for activities outside your working hours.
